No one else notices the music. No one else hears the laughter. You're the only one who can see through the emptiness of it all. 

You try to shrug your observations off. Your suburban existence is meaningless but comfortable, at least.

But when your mother suddenly looks and behaves like a different person, and your sister vanishes without anyone acknowledging her existence, you know you have to break out, no matter how many sharks you have to jump.
